Head to the Coast
Pick up some seashells when walking on the beach, and be by the calming sea as much as possible. The fresh air and the sound of waves will give you energy and balance.
Iced Coffee From Scratch
Homemade iced coffee is a must in July. Iced coffee is a delightful change from hot ones. You can make a simple iced coffee with a French press or vary the flavour with homemade syrups.
Try these recipes
- Iced Mint Latte
- Blueberry Iced Latte with homemade simple syrup
- Moroccan Spiced Coffee Mocktail

Gather and Dry Herbs for Herbal Teas
Treasures of the herbalist’s garden, such as lemon balm, sage, oregano, thyme, and mint, can be easily dried and steeped into herbal teas.
July is also the time to forage plants from nature, like lady’s mantle, nettle, fireweed, or wild raspberry leaves, which can be dried for simple wild teas.
Later in July, I’ll share with you a few tips about drying herbs for tea and how to make Ivan chai by oxidizing fireweed leaves – so keep an eye on your inbox or subscribe to Natural Lifestyle Letters. You will get weekly natural lifestyle inspiration straight to your inbox if you are subscribed.

Season of the Blue Treasure
Berry hunting is the best outdoor activity in July. Forage for blueberries to make a delicious blueberry pie or mix some blueberry simple syrup to flavour coffees and iced teas.

Outside Without Shoes
Calming nerves, connecting to nature, or just for fun – walking barefoot is THE joy of summertime. A gentle foot massage by the sandy beach or the grass is something that matters right now.
Walk barefoot whenever you can. It is a simple way to feel more grounded and connected with nature.

Enjoy the Colors
Flowers are abundant in July. Play with different options to make some beautiful natural bouquets. Match the same colors to create a harmonious bouquet, or create a calming bouquet with the flowers of the same size or same pattern.
Gather what you see on your walks in nature and enjoy the colors of flora at home. Get inspiration from the flower shops and remember to use some deep colored leaves too to make a stunning, natural flower arrangement.

Spend a Night Out
If you have a tent, this is the time to use it. Pack your backpack and toss the tent and sleeping sack on a bicycle, and camp a night or two in a forest nearby or a camping area.
We use a handy bicycle wagon for our daughter and pack all our things in it to make moving around effortless. Remember to take some natural mosquito repellent with you if you have the mosquito season on!
